If you are not an IE 5.5 user, click here to return to the browser selection page.
IE has Chinese Character decoding function embedded in the browser. Therefore you do not need to use any third-party character encoding software to view Chinese on our web pages.
IE 5.5 auto-detects the web page fonts and displays Chinese characters without any need to configure the browser.
If not, do the following referencing the image below.
Click View -> click Encoding -> click Auto-Select. If necessary, click More for Chinese Traditional (Big5). IE will refresh the page.
If not, go back to the IE menu bar, click Refresh. You do not need to do this setting again each time you launch the IE brower as it will remember your setting.
If the above does not work, click Tools -> click Internet Options ->click Fonts.
See image below: for Language script, pick Chinese Traditional -> pick the Web page font you like, such as MingLiU, PMingLiU -> click [OK]. Go back to the IE menu bar, click Refresh.
You should be able to view Chinese now.
